Mama D'Leau, also known as Mama Dlo or Mama Glo, is a water spirit of Caribbean folklore, particularly present in the traditions of Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, Saint Lucia, and Guyana. Her name derives from the French maman de l'eau, "mother of the water," and her legend draws together Indigenous Arawak belief with African and French colonial influence.

She is described as a woman from the waist up, her lower half coiled into the form of a great serpent hidden beneath the water. She is rarely without her golden comb, and is known to carry a mirror, taking great care over her own beauty. As guardian of the rivers, she protects the animals within them, and is said to punish those who pollute or disrespect the waters in her care.

Handcrafted from an upcycled steel sardine tin, lined in velvet, finished with hand-placed faux pearl clusters and a genuine sea shell.
