The Dogon people of Mali honour Yasigi as a goddess of dancing, masks, and beer. All that she governs has an interesting relation to identity, as each of the three – dancing, masks and beer - can alter our thinking and others' perceptions of us. Yasigi encourages people to let go of seriousness and embrace a joyful and free lifestyle.
