Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator ruled Egypt from 51 to 30 BC as its last active pharaoh. She inherited a Greek name and a Greek court — and chose Egypt anyway. She ruled first alongside her father, then her younger brothers, before taking sole command of Egypt.
