Nefertiti, meaning "the beautiful one has come," was the Great Royal Wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten during Egypt's 18th Dynasty. She held titles including Lady of Grace, Sweet of Love, Lady of All Women, and Mistress of Upper and Lower Egypt.

Temple reliefs from Karnak and Hermopolis show her leading worship and smiting Egypt's enemies in her own tall, flat-topped blue crown — imagery usually reserved for pharaohs alone. Some historians believe she went on to rule Egypt outright as pharaoh after her husband's death, under the name Neferneferuaten-Nefertiti.
