Queen Nanny, an obeah healer, chieftainess and general of Jamaica’s most feared, armed and spiritual warriors - the Maroons.

Maroons were resilient societies formed by people of African descent who escaped the plantations to seek refuge in the mountains from colonial British rule, free to practise Indigenous belief systems and cultural practices.
